Please be aware, that because this is a natural rope, the rope will shrink in length by approx 15% & expand in girth when wet, so please take this into consideration if using for decking areas etc. The rope can be treated with linseed oil/ Clear decking oils etc to prolong its life.

To get the right measurement, simply measure your staircase in a straight line from the desired position of the first bracket to the desired position of the last bracket. Keep in mind that the knots are not included in this measurement, and you should leave enough space for them. A rough estimate is that the knot diameter is approximately three times the diameter of the chosen rope size.
A drape refers to the slack or sag in the rope between each fitting. It's a matter of personal preference whether to have a drape or not. Over time, all ropes will naturally sag and develop a small drape as they settle and adjust. To achieve a subtle drape, we suggest adding 5% to the length of your handrail rope. If you want a more pronounced drape, add 10%.

The title says it all, I think. As you can see, no rigid handrail was going to fit easily in this corner. (See picture below). I may have ordered it a little too long, but we'll see how it is when it gets wet.
